I normally wouldn't make a new thread for Dev Diarys but this one is really an incredible post and good to glance through. It shows all the hard work that goes into building the urban biome, the animations for the buildings, and talks about how the team worked to give the city a realistic feel.
If you are at all interested in the game/expansion and don't frequent the BattleTech forum, I'd check the thread out. Again, a really good thread by one of the developers...

I wanted to post another recent Dev Diary that also touches on city creation. This one dives into the more detail orientated part of city creation. How they tries to keep poly counts low, do more with limited textures, and added details to the city to make it look more realistic.
