Earlier today, I lost a match where I produced 1370 damage with a pulse laser vomit MAD IIC on Mining Collective... It was the second biggest amount of damage I ever produced. And we still lost 7/12.

That made me wonder... This has to be a record...

So... Has anybody here ever produced more damage in a single quick play game and still lost?

About the same number ... just under 1.5k dmg a few times on losses. Thing is, you can't really do more than that and lose since 1.5k is basically enough to erase the entire enemy team by yourself. Unless you bring lock-on trash and farm arms and legs off Atlases I guess ...

Regularly. And I see it all the time from mates.

But then when ~8 players damage doesn't add up to your own single total, that's gonna happen.

Usually because they are all NASCAR/running in circles rather than shooting. In fact not usually, almost always.

Yeah it happens. Happened to me as well on multiple occasions

Sometimes Matchmaking stacks the odds against you so hard that no matter what you do you'll still lose

Unless you pull off a Death star or something

Okay, that is downright impressive... What weapons did you use?

My record is 1858 in a loss.
But the best result is 0-12 loss when i did 1238 dmg, more than the rest of my team combined;)

Highest I've seen was on here, somebody posted a screenshot of over 2200dmg on a loss. Highest I've had was probably around the op's, though I've had plenty of the out score the rest of the team games and some over 2000dmg fp games where nobody else on the team broke 500.
Lot of the really high damage on a loss games are probably from before the ST destruction adding arm damage to the score.

No strikes used, just one coolshot. KGC 0000 w/ Light 340, MRM 40, med laser x4, LBX 10 x2. Which is a pretty stupid build. I just couldn't pull off the clutch at the end.

How many kills did you get? Sometimes players will do a lot of damage but it's spread out too much on enemy mechs and doesn't yield kills.

2 kills, 3 assists, 2 solo kills, 3KMDD.

Yeah, I was not able to finish the guys I was shooting at. And some of the damage came from Artillery Strikes, so those obviously spread...

I've had a few over 1000 dmg losses. But the worst I ever saw in a match was chronosw getting 1666 dmg in a skirmish match, but we lost 10-11 (he was alive at the end). 3 kills, 975 ms in a Cicada 3M (ERLL, which is all he ever plays it seems).

The bad part is that the damage does not separate/show damage done where crits are generated and ammo explosions.

I believe it was standard 5-6 MPL WLF. Its not that hard to do 1500+ with it even today. And before "fix" we had a damage from destroyed components added to the pool.

Even the MS is higher than the damage done by some people collectively in that game

A teammate and I held off the entire enemy team for most of the match, just the two of us in the circle while almost all of the remaining 10 teammates were chasing a couple squirrels, and combined did ~2.4k damage.
