When ever an Airstrike is about to happen (that smoke on a location), you may look into the sky, it may have got your attention. First see the contrails in the sky, then in front of those contrails is that bombing aircraft zooming into the area. What do you do? Run away, stay, or run into the smoke like it is a safe zone, or are you one of those guys that is at a distance, and see the aircraft coming into the area. When I do, at a distance from bombing area, I see that aircraft zooming in area. But wondering first (friendly, or enemy bomber). I tend to fire on them a lot, when a strike is about to happen, and many times I have hit the aircraft. I have made a few hits so bad, that black smoke will follow behind, but never gets destroyed, thinking that it would (I got it!), and fall to the ground and explode. And thinking I prevented an airstrike. But all that, never happens. Can hit the aircraft easy with laser weapons and nothing else, like any type of missiles, or ballistics, only lasers, but you have to be quick at all times. You only have the one chance to have fun, each time to hit that bomber. Anyone else do this, or is it just me.

Why not? I seen people shoot at walls.

Shooting into the air is a bit different.
Depending on whether you're currently engaged with an actual opponent, you're either wasting DPS that should be going into the enemy mech or telegraphing your location to the enemy without a good reason.
Either way, you're also wasting ammo and/or heat.

Well yeah. I shoot down UAVs, and enemy, while walking the nascar dance with friendlies, and their are times, I get the chance to shoot aircraft's. I am not the only guy who has chances of freedom with friendlies, who are also looking around for a position.

I think the point is that it would be nice if we could shoot them down.

Well we do have two Anti Aircraft Mechs designed to do that very thing, would make sense to be able to shoot them down like you can do with UAV's.

Agree. Would be one of those option to save the team from Air strikes, and also awarded. But, mean time it is entertaining when you get the chance. Maybe their is a Easter egg, we are unaware of. Who knows?

I really don't want more people not shooting the enemy. We really don't need that.

At the very least, maybe a puff of colourful smoke if you hit it. Fine. But no rewards or anything like that. There's plenty of stuff to shoot that rewards you.
