The Gargoyle Meme-Machine

Once I had my rudimentary ~15 points in survival, along with the offensive tree filled out, things begun to change. By the time I had unlocked mobility (ignoring speed tweak, since the Gargles is naturally quick but a little poor at changing direction) and consumables, this thing became a complete monster. I would have completed that La Malinche challenge in an evening had I chosen to pilot this guy instead of my Pakhet.
Nobody knows what to do when faced with a Gargoyle anymore, because they are so rare. Yet there are plenty of maps where getting into 180m range at 81kph and Assault level armour is actually quite easy. 48 pin point damage every couple of seconds is bonkers and people lose chunks of their 'Mech before they realise just how much damage those tiny red lines are doing.
Naturally, the Gargoyle works best with the Meep Meep warhorn.
Man I love this guy!

I had some minor amusement doing a "Knifeback" (name the guy came up for it) build of the Hunchback IS version that can have 9 Energy slots - with the small pulse lasers x9. I think it was on MechSpecs site, in their builds section. You have to be REALLY close (too close, honestly, for a non-ECM Medium, imo) - but in the instances it works, it really works - and you do like 35 damage every 2 seconds or some such (pretty amusing if you DO get behind an enemy).

It's a troll mech good for 1v1 in QP/GQ. But any pilot worth his salt will RIP it apart with ease.

Apparently, this has not been the case!

Thankfully most people in QP are absolute plums, so confusing them as to which torso to aim at is as simple as twisting away. Against organized play though yes, it's toast.

- Locked Ferro instead of Endo. Its just wasted tonnage.
- Engine KPH / Ton diminishes as engines become larger, GAR has a 400 engine, the most inefficient.

Mediocre 'Mechs don't get you five kill games though, unless you are good. I'm not a great pilot, but I got 500 MS games last night like it was nothing. It's a very fun 'Mech to play that capitalizes on the shock value of seeing a "mediocre mech" melt your team mates like a hot knife through butter. If it were more popular people would just take the arms and ignore it afterward, but it's not.

Sadly I run into pilots of the +95% on the other team all the time, thus, remove the ability for mediocre mechs to be viable.
