It’s kind of a moot point and because the Dervish is one of the very few mechs that I did not preorder in the last couple of years did it occur to me; PGIs preorder bonus cutoff of 30 days before the mech is released makes absolutely zero sense, especially when one considers that a major source of the game revenue is from these soon to be extinct monthly packs.
What incentive do I have to buy a mech that is going to be released once that 30 day threshold has been crossed and the preorder bonuses evaporate? If anything it makes me consider abstaining from purchasing before release.
Most every other current game allows preorder bonuses to occur down to the second before the product is released.
Again, at this stage of the game, the point is moot. Not very business savvy tho.

I mentioned that in my rants about how poorly they've monetized this game.

It kind of seems counterintuitive

Indeed. Sometimes I wanted to buy the mech before it was released, but it didn't have the preorder bonuses, so, why bother?
The preorder bonus should be up there just before the mech is released. It would have improved sales for sure.

Certain very important details like in-game modeling, scaling, and quirks are only released like a week before the mech is dropped live. Those critical details will greatly influence somebody's decision to either buy or avoid that mech pack. Cutting off the pre-order bonuses before players have this information is pretty stupid.

Agreed. There have been a few mechs I didn't buy because the pre-order window had closed. They really should offer the preorder until the day before that mech is patched in and then perhaps a reduced order bonus for those that buy before MC release.
