So is anyone else having a hard time getting into quickplay today? I was in a queue for 37 minutes with a friend earlier before finally giving up. Tried all sorts of mix of lights, mediums, heavy, and assault. Now it looks like it's doing it again, and it's really starting to bug me.

Groups are seperate bucket. And ITS only active during eu and na prime time. Otherwise even cw is more active.

Group queue punishes groups the smaller they are.
As a rule of thumb back when i played in a group of 2 you need to have 1000 players average on steam to get games with reasonable speed (https://steamcharts.com/app/342200#7d)
Sice MWO will most likely never reach 1000 ever again regularly the only hint I can give you is playing in greoups of at least 4 people. If you only can/want to play with a group of two you can play FP or Solaris.
Group Q quickplay will be unplayable for you.
