To me MWO dosn't feel like Counterstrike...okay I don't play lights, allways get motionsick by even watching a Flee pilot. Still mechs aren't slow by any means. 65kp/h is still 65kp/h and the faster mechs with their 100+ kp/h are definitly not slow at all.
The image of mechs walking like in slow motion is just wrong. The may look slow when looking from the ground up to a hundret ton mech but when you stand at a road and watch cars going by at 50kp/h that isn't a slow movement and that is what 100t mech can do!
So I don't quite get where this image of the slow mech comes from. MWO does a pretty good job, I think, in showing how fast that is.

HI guys, I watched some YouTube Videos for MW5 gameplay... and I think its kind of Boring.
The graphics even though is not final version, makes me feel like playing some other games.
So just wondering, what are your thoughts on the latest videos of the game, its not exactly making me feel like spending on the game on release.

have you seen some of the damage modeling? This is the first game where the armor actually looks like it's melting as per the lore... that it pock marks, and scores and runs like armor should in the universe.
What's so boring about it? Frankly it look about like MWO's combat, which is the modern take on mecha combat. And of all the issues I have with MWO over the years, the combat isn't one of those [I do feel that instant convergence needs to go, but I mean, I guess it is what it is... maybe a mod will fix that.]
Oh that's another thing, MODS... MW5 will be on Unreal engine, easily moddable, and modding is supported by PGI for this. 100% a positive over MWO.
The more I hear from people like OP, the more I'm convinced, that people have this lofty idea [myself included] of what Mechwarrior should be, and that game, won't sell beyond a small group.

Explosions and graphics look kinda bad because you expect more debris, lasting smoke and directional smoke particles or fire coming from shots and laser landing spots, but they're just stock blasts from UE4 it seems. I noticed that and can't think that even MWO has some distinct and awesome sparks and effects, but they're from the STOCK CryEngine build.
Still, played the **** out of MW4 and looked like ***, but the fantasy was there, and MW5 may deliver on it. Building mechs, trying them, trying different aquad tactics and balancing costs was fun. Curious that MW4 old *** game had very cool walking and running animations with proper inverse kinematics.
Still no interactable cockpits or differences between mech manufacturers are a letdown.

A new game engine, visual effects, and mods are all nice.
But there's no mechlab, or so I've heard. That sinks it.

Everyone and they're grandma love to use that hyberbole
There is one, it's just more restrictive then MWO
Like not being able to change the engine rating, or not being able to put on ferro (ohh the horror), but having to hunt down a variant that comes with it
Probably the first popular mod will be to open the options more
Also Battletech seems to be doing fine, although its mechlab (and techbase) is far from MWO's standard of customization as well

Are there in lore?
Weapons, sure, mechs though?
Also weapons would be easily modable

That would be quite cool indeed.
Also, for the cost of full ray tracing, there's not too many examples, but this Quake II fully ray traced tech proof-of-concept went from 400fps to 100fps on the newest 2080Ti, so I would use that as a ballpark of how long we have to wait for a modern graphics game. If runs at 100fps today, 25fps with ray tracing might not be bearable today

Shrugs
Depends on how much they use Ray tracing and how detailed it needs to be
Metro Exodus was fine with it enabled on my 2080ti
I'd be more worried about PGI being PGI
Besides
A good RTX support needs a good DX12 API, which everyone would benefit from
Still, just hoping for a good enough base game

Full ray tracing...

I'll give you one guess why each game is only choosing 1 technique.
Also we only saw indoor RTX features

I think his point was that it in no way resembled a modern game graphics wise or does it compare well to what other companies have out there.
I get what he was trying to say, but IMO, excessive hyperbole can come across as rather ridiculous in some cases (this being one of them).
