For the challenges -- Clan autocannon 20? Not ultra?

Probably going to skip a bunch of challenges centered around uncommon weapons like IS streak-2's. But nice variety of rewards for people who need them.

The event requirements are lol.... I mean yes it's optional and it's free ****, but still..

The weapons in each category don't synergize so unless you want to gimp yourself, you wouldn't try to complete several sub-objectives of, say, IS ballistics, in one game. You'd combine IS AC20 and IS medium laser, IS LB10X + IS ERSL, Gauss + ERPPC (fired separately to avoid GH), RAC2 + LPL, UAC5 + Light PPC as an example. Some of these combos are still really awkward but that's the fastest way to finish them.

Second, the some of the worst weapons in the game are required for this challenge. 100 MC isn't worth taking Light PPCs and SSRM2s sorry.

I think I might be finally getting a Kraken or one of those ballistic Mad Dog heroes, or... even the ECM hero Ice Fridge... but only once they actually go on sale! (in game prices haven't been adjusted yet, C-bill bonus has)

Good way to get people to play crap weapons and contribute even less than usual to your team. These events often magnify sub-par player's shortcomings by forcing them to play bad mechs/weapons or just things they aren't particularly good at (light mechs for example are my weakness, so I tend to forgo any prizes that require me to play them, unless the prizes are really, really good, in which case I tend to hurt my team trying to get them - bad premise for an event).

Couldn't agree with Blackhawk more.

-Looked at CWs dead queue. Decided against it.
-Played one quick play game. Figured I'd do the event and get some quickplay games. Saw that the event required me to use stupid weapons which would make me have to reconfigure most of my mechs.
-Thought I'd buy a K9 cause of the sale and cbill bonus bump. Then saw the sale wasn't live even though it said 0000 July 13th.
-Checked google for UTC time (even though I was sure it was past that).
-Logged out.

Honestly PGI, the fact that you guys can't even get a basic thing like a sale up and running at the time you communicated on the forum is indicative of your inability to get the big things correct. Here's hoping that Paul's "ability to switch factions between matches" isn't accompanied by some other convoluted game breaking feature.

Seriously, please get the small things right before you try to tackle big game changing/breaking designs.

Thats exactly what I didnt do. Who doesnt want Clan LB-2X mixed with an assortment of random lasers!! Weeeeee Full Spud Engage.
