Frogs (1972)

Featuring Ray Milland

Basic concept of this movie is that nature gets even with man.

The movie starts out with a fellow in a canoe snapping wildlife pictures, as well as bits of pollution he finds. When a speed boat almost runs him down, he gets even when the driver stops to assist by pulling the beer-holding speeder over the side. From there they go to an estate which seems to have a large population of frogs hopping around. The film moves slowly even as the photographer explores the area and comes across several animal corpses and a dead body. Soon after one of the people at the estate accidentally shoots themselves only to be attacked by spiders. Another man inside a green house dies from poisonous fumes as lizards knock over several large jugs of poison that just happen to be sitting on the shelves in several places.
As they start to figure out that something is wrong, they try to escape. A small group of servants from the estate are first to go, only to be harassed by birds. The photographer along with two kids and a woman use his canoe to escape only to fight off an attack by several snakes. The movie closes with the small group being rescued by a woman driving a station wagon, although the boy with her found a large frog at "camp". The last one to remain is an old man in a wheel chair, who faces off the horde of frogs alone.

Some violence, and PETA probably hates this film.Posted Image-- Or perhaps cheer as the animals take over. Either way, a slow moving light fright fest of a horror movie, some violence, best watched if bored out of your skull and can't find anything better to watch. Yeah, the walk out to the garden may be a little unsettling afterward. I would rate this "B" movie on the low end of scary movies, but I also have to admit it does feature some neat images of various reptiles, including a snapping turtle.
