PGI could introduce some 'classic' models of in-game iconic mechs (pick your poison)
- They could function a number of ways, either as looks only with original MWO mech hitboxes, or have unique hitboxes that behave with new geometry
- could be sold as a whole 5 piece pack and or be won individually in events.
-Think 'throwback' uniforms that professional league sports sometimes use.
-Even if it was just a head visualization change for some, it would be cool.

This game (albeit graphically Crysis 3 challenged) is one that is based off of aesthetics, primarily the way the mechs look. We know, that there are fans that prefer certain styles over others when it comes to the way mechs or weapons look. We also know that PGI's multitasking/managing a f2p game with minimal content is not the greatest but it's better than nothing.
It's funny that how often the mechpack model was criticized because players were asking for other trivial things (sarc) like maps, in game information, a functional Faction warfare that didn't suck up the last of the game's dev life-cycle (nice one).
Now that the mechpack-a-month is gone, it's also funny how much it is clearly missed. Talk about Stockholm's syndrome.

I may have a solution that satisfies most parties (it's MWO, there's salt to be found)

I think it would be stylistic nightmare. Whatever you may say about Piggy, but their redesign is spot on, mechs have this somewhat industrial aesthetics, and are believable, looking at them I have less problem "buying" that those are actual war machines. Which I can't tell about old Spider design https://www.sarna.ne...025_Spider1.jpg or some other https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Commando https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Cossack https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Arctic_Fox

Part of their redesign was trying to pull old designs together in oneish semirealistic style, while preserving as much aesthetics of originals a possible. I don't think you can do a reskin, that would both be significantly closer to originals, and not look out of place among other mechs in this game.

Ive only ever known of Battletech through a MW game. For me it started with MW2 back in the 90s I think but I have always found it very strange how some of the mech designs look totally bad *** and others look like feeble stickmen with very odd design choices lol.

Edit - Would still love to see more of the BT universe in a game. Super heavy mechs, bases and installations, tanks and aircraft....hell even spaceships! Humm I wonder if potentially MW5 could start that journey with mods in due time. . .

*insert entire bolt-on library. Not much different ideology wise.
I agree, the stylization is great. This is just meant to be something of an extension of something that already exists in game, but for fans of older style characterization- they do exist.

PGI has done many mistakes in this game, but what is excelling in their company are the artists. They have so much good work at bringing the mech to this century and look as good as they can be. So please dont try to **** up the models they have already come up with. Also balancing issues would already make this thing impossibility..
