I was actually kind of impressed with Russ’s apparent honesty regarding MWO’s even more minimalistic future (though I don’t think his aside regarding MWO having three more years is realistic given how bad wait times have gotten...what’s it going to be like once MW5 hits? When MW5 starts getting modded?). All in all, I think MWO has had a good run and for now, continues to be a viable game. We’ll see how long it lasts in this maintenance mode. And hey...Paul claims to still be diligently working on FP, and Russ did promise more “balance” passes from Chris; so there is that.
Anyway, as to the world championships for this year, I believe there is some chatter down in the competitive channel regarding the comp crowd having had discussions about this years championships so from that I think there is still hope that they will take place. But as to what format, and when I could find no details.

Even worse is that the comp guys aren't raiding the group queue for practice like they used to, so the group queue has been very dead outside of prime time hours. Past 10pm PST the last two weeks we've failed to get a match with lances of anywhere from 2 to 5 pilots.

Oh great, well not so great.
1: They might totally give up on MWO, even any mw game.
2: Sadly, they might start to ***** and whine in tons to PGI to include multiplayer in MW5, or ELSE salt will flow! Enough of that and PGI will bother even less with caring since whiners might overshadow player thats totally fine with MW5 being single player and coop game, which I hope on stays that way!
3: Saving grace could be if its possible to mod in mp in MW5.... somehow, make no mission objective, enemies spawn and make each of the four "team" mates be set as enemies and spawned on different parts of the maps.. hmm..

Predictions my fellow pilot. I might speak overboard and predict the worst outcomes, but believe me. Its better to be a bit.. hmm pessimistic and when positive things happen regarding MWO and well MW5 it will taste that much better. If worst comes to worst and assumptions are right regarding the consequences of player loss for competive play with no comp play for MECHcon.. Well then we wouldnt be surprised would we, and the fall not so severe.

He's not referring to your predictions - he's referring to the fact your post reads like a stream of consciousness, which doesn't seem to have a logical flow/sentence structure.
It makes it significantly harder to follow the points you are attempting to make, as certain words you are using are out of place.
For example "Well then we wouldnt be surprised would we, and the fall not so severe."
This reads like what you are trying to say is "well then we wouldn't be surprised, would we - and the fall in player numbers wouldn't be a massive shock"
If I'm not correct in my interpretation of your comments np, I read through what you posted, and that's the sense I got on what you were trying to say.

Too bad. I usually buy this.
Even if it is just a reskin, new color and change the year.
PGI could have given 5% of any profit to the organizers.
