I was satisfied with my purchase, so no. Even if MW:5 never comes out, I got my money's worth (paid $50 for more than $50 worth of MW:O stuff, also get MW:5 thrown in or something).

I didn't even pre-order in the first place, turns out I was vindicated in doing so.

Yep i had zero faith in PGI pulling this off so never pre-ordered. That could do with an option.

Did you doubt PGI? If so you're a wise man/woman.

I'm a sucker for BattleTech, so of course I pre-ordered...when I shouldn't have. If it was any other franchise....

Ok, enough of that.

I haven't filed for a refund yet. I am still on the fence about it and figured I'd wait until my emotions calmed down so I could really make a decision I was content with. No point in filing a refund when I am angry and it clouds my judgement a bit. We have till September after all, might as well use that time to think it over.

So far I am siding with keeping the Pre-order, but I'm not done thinking it over yet.

Purely because it's MechWarrior. I'm in no matter what. Will I get hosed?
We'll see.

Can't ask for a refund if you never pre-ordered in the first place.

I think people who refunded are generally going to be more inclined to vote in the poll, so wouldn't trust the results.

How can a game launcher with a 3 million tournament prize game and over 20 million users be so evil corrupt and virus riddled?

It isn't. Gamers just have an extremely vocal minority that have a larger than life online presence, and those obnoxious folk seem to have this idea that they know what's best for the livelihoods of the people who work at computer game software companies. Meanwhile they are ignorant of the crap way that Steam and Valve treat the developers who put games out on their platform, and have completely forgotten that Valve themselves pushed The Great Half Life 2 as a Steam exclusive to build a player base.

Said from the very start you'd be a fool to preorder MW5 because PGI is known for shenanigans.

Low and behold.

Some free goodies for MWO after a full refund isn't the worst position to be in right? Arguably better than the people that didn't pre-order

I did. But I'll probably check out MW5 when it does fully release. Preferably after seeing some impressions and more footage. This was the first pre-order I'd done in years, possibly a decade, and they totally shat on whatever ounce faith remained. So I'll just wait to make an informed decision. Especially because the beta is now months away. If it weren't for that. I would seriously have considered sticking around. Otherwise it's just not worth letting them collect interest off my pre-order. I would suggest people do the same. Even if you agree with their move. Make an informed decision. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt with the poor way they handled this entire thing.

Hey folks,

It’s been an interesting weekend.

My opinion only, I’ve found MWO to be good value for the time and $ I’ve spent on it. Sure, the game has some issues, bit overall, it is a good game imo, but then again, I’m one of those people who thinks ‘perfect’ should never be the enemy of ‘good’. For me, MWO has lived up to my expectations, and after all, it’s not like I’ve pumped $20K+ into a game that isn’t even in beta after five years (I’m looking at you Star Citizen).

Ok, so PGI has decided to go with Epic, and I assume piss of a lot of current players who were expecting a Steam key. I don’t have any experience with Epic so I can’t speak to that. PGI is a business and they have to balance commercial and artistic interests. They want to finish MW5, and if they have to go Epic to do so, well so be it.

As for the refunds, on the face of it, it should be a no-brainer, I got some good swag for MWO which I get to keep, and no financial penalty. Still, I think I’ll wait a bit longer before requesting my refund, just to see what pops up between now and August 31st.

Good hunting,
CFC Conky

Hm, if you tolerate as customer one of these Dev Mistreatening Publishing Entities as Neccessary Evil that does not mean you are obliged to accept more of them...

...and the Devs should "man up" if they are disapointed with the terms they are also not obliged to accept - but going from one Evil to another Evil is not the smart way!

Accusing your potential customers of being responsible for the mistreatment through your Publishing Partners is completey hilarious and alienating!!!
