Whats people thoughts on the dire wolf ultraviolet? Two ballistic hardpoints in each arm and two energy hardpoints in the shoulders seem pretty useful. One could make 8 lbx 2. Or 7 lbx 5. Some killer ideas for solaris. Even the 6 lbx in QP would be good. I can fit 4 c ultra 20s.

And yet the 8 Lb2 load out is much more popular than the 8 AC2 load out.

Because potato. I recommended the reg 2's over Kuber's choice cause heat but I also like burst of uac's personally.LBX's are not good outside of tens.

Heat doesn't matter because targets die faster than you overheat. If not, coolshots.

Agree but potato's will overheat and die in uac version. My one and only whale is the ultraviolence and it has uac's.

I have a prime and its ok but looking at the hardpoints is quite interesting. I was trying to get opinions before I fork out money.

Honestly, it sounds Rough but I loose to 80% if I have a dire wolf in Team. In times of Nascar a slow assault is just a waste of tonnage. But each his own... you can try it, those are your mc's.

If you are in Direwhale and in a team that Nascars hard most of the time you don't want to even try to follow the lemmings in your side. Perch yourself in a strong long range position with cover, try not to be spotted until you open fire and the worst that can happen is that you do a few hundreds of dmg before they get rid of you, in a good case scenario, you are flanking the whole enemy team as they try to push your friendlies while you rain fire on them, then you can expect 1.5K dmg easypeasy.

Direwhale is like that feast or famine, but you can diminish the famine if you are smart.

first off: no direwhale in nascar-queue for me.

that being said, both the lbx and the cac/uac version have their merits, imo.
yes, the lbx-version doesn't cut it when it comes to damage-numbers. and neither when to open&trash a fresh mech.
but oh boy, it's fun to go through some damaged mechs with it ;)

when I ever use it, it's the cac/uac-version. but going lbx is a guilty pleasure nobody should say 'no' to once in a while ;)

an ultraviolet wont do much for a bad dire pilot (especially in nascar queue). but if you are good at the dire you will be significantly better in the uv.

idk, the lb2 does have a lot of crit when multiplied by 8. it will rip open components away like they weren't even there. though i still prefer the cac2 variant for its long range accuracy.

fun mech but be prepared to be left behind basically every game

however if you just hide out of the way and wait for the fight to begin, and dont get caught by light mechs, you can get an easy 800+ point game by showing up at the right time, that's always fun

I have an AC2 DWF-Prime and a LB Ultraviolet that I use on certain maps in Faction Play.

Both seem to do about the same amount of damage on average. The LB one is tankier though because you don't need to use many Skill Points on Heat.

(The UIAC2 version constantly jams - that's why I prefer the AC2s now.)

I would never take a DWF into QP die to the NASCAR problem mentioned earlier in this thread.

My favorite setup is 6X Med Pulse lasers and 2XUltra Clan UAC10's. Learn how shoot to reduce the jamming and when it does jam,. use the pulse lasers. Decent damage for me.

Something like that works better in a night gyr and is a waste of an ultraviolet.

Maybe to you, but I like the challenge and best of all, it suites me just fine. Not everyone will agree with me or you as we all are just different.

I should have noted that my preferred mech is the Champion. My UV is all lasers. Runs a little bit hot though.
