Trying to come up with something that is workable for me. Something fun for my one night a week game time. My machine is on the lowest settings to get 25-30 fps during game play. Here's my current build, with no SP applied at the moment. Maybe different omnipod layouts?

Thanks in advance for any input!

First issue I can see is a lack of ammo. Grab 1-2 more tons of ammo depending on how quickly you burn through shots in a match.

Also you need to max out your armor on the torso and arms. Remove 1-2 heatsinks for the tonnage needed.

Try to make room for a Light Active Probe to help deal with ECM trolls.

In general this build has too much heat efficiency to get use out of in most situations, particularly if you invest in the firepower and/or operations skill trees. You give up too much alpha strike for all those DHS but you don't gain all that much out of it. Try to upgrade the size of one or both missile launchers, which once again will require the sacrifice of a few heatsinks.

The chassis always gets overlooked for clan laser vomit. I've ended up with a 72 point heavy laser boat. Its ridiculous, but it's been working.

Go to youtube and look up Baradul and in his videos search for mad dog. Pick one of those. Or just run with a lot of SRMs and Artemis. Get close, fire, wreck enemies, repeat.

can't go wrong with 6x srm6a.

simple, works, fun. you could not want more from a mech*.

*except headlights and a police-horn, but hey: not every mech can be as perfect as the K9

First max out your armor (and put max 7 in your back) , swap your atm6 for 2 atm12
Swap mpl for 1 ltag +3hsl or 1ltag + 2hml

Use 2 to 3 T of ammo per launcher at start.

Edit : try to not waste your ammo at more than 500m. Fire between 130 and 450.
I think 2 external dhs are enough about heat.

Come to me after testing that.

Twin LBX-20's are hella fun to play on a MDD. Just remember to keep in cover until the brawl kicks in, you're not a poker.

Alternatively.

You are aware of the concept of omnimechs, right?

You are aware I say "workwell" because if you know that much of omnimech you understand set of 8? So MDD-C was not used for no reasons (less crit and more cooldown quirk)

Yeeeaaah ... that whooping 5% cooldown set-of-8 quirk surely makes all the difference. Obviously without that 5% cooldown thingy the build won't work at all. Like not at all, nope nope. Unplayable.

MDD-PRIME with full 8-pod omnipod bonuses gets absolutely amazing amount of missile cooldown, velocity and spread from quirks. The downside is that its restricted to just 2 launchers, but that makes it pretty good of a dps boat with 2 ATM12 launchers. Lack of jump jets and the mech being a bit fragile makes positioning a bit of a challenge, but whenever you have a chance to press down the fire button and hold it down, the DPS is real.

I run mine with 2ATM12, BAP, LTAG and either 3HML or 3SPL for backup. I have another copy of it on my alt account too, where it absolutely wrecks enemies with bad positioning in tiers 5 to 3. It becomes less effective in tier 2 and 1 as enemies become less likely to give you free shots at them.

The one im using, uses a 3 energy hardpoint right arm, stock prime omni-pods for the rest of it, that way you still get that awesome 20% missile cool down perk.

The mech uses 2 artemis lrm 20's, 4 medium pulse, a tag laser, beagle probe and 1 ton targeting computer. The rest of the weight goes to ammo, armour and heatsinks as you see fit.

It plays how I imagine the Maddog/Hagetaka/Vulture should. Use your lrms, close in and finish stuff off with your 4 medium pulse. It runs a little hot, just dont use the lrms and pulse at the same time and you can manage.

With the tag, targeting comp, beagle probe and artemis upgrades, your missiles are quite effective. Their a long range weapon that I think is very useful, you can do damage anywhere on the map at long range with your team mates. The tag is an ecm mechs bane and benefits other teammates as well. try it out, you might like it. It requires a more coordinated approach to fights, and watch your heat, but damn she walks pretty :)

I'd consider the TC a bit wasteful. Why do you find it particzularly useful in this build?
