Seriously, when the game crashes or your internet connection drops there should be a way to be able to rejoin that same game "somehow" after you reload the game instead of being penalized for it and having your favorite mech tied up until that match finishes!? I'm reading this "crash report" and there should be a way to distinguish the difference between a "crash" vs someone "abandoning" the match right?

This is absolutely the way it is. Just click on that Quickplay button after you are re-logged (should say "Rejoin" I believe), a window pos up with the match(es) you have active Mechs in. Klick the match you want to rejoin and then hit the "rejoin" button.
