Looking at the amount of faction games in my time zone, it is clear that I will not achieve my personal goal of obtaining Galaxy Commander III before MW5 releases.
I would like to suggest that for MC, I could purchase rank(s) as required.
For example - currently at Star Colonel 4, I could buy rank 5 for 1000 MC, then 1200, and so on.
