i feel MWO made money ,and that alot of that profit was mismanaged

Really, people whinning about where they spend their profits, pffff

Its their profits not yours, make your own profits and then choose what to spend it on.

Russ has got choices, where does he spend his profits, on which one?
  • Reinvest in a game that's at the end of its life cycle because the same community that suggested Solaris want it.
  • Or Make a new game/IP (MW5/Transverse lol) that will be make more money than the above.
  • Buy a bigger boat
  • Buy an Island
  • Buy a boat thats also an Island

Not your Profits, not your choice.

Correct, its their profits. But when those profits are diverted and not used to make the product that was promised, then people are going to be very reluctant to support the company with additional purchases

Well, MWO kinda left to die, and MW5 last scheme to get some money, accomplished by EPIC, because the lack of enthusiam and commitment is kinda foreboding. But thats just my conspiracy theory, share yours.

I will extended this theory. The Epic money was to settle debts/Russ's retirement fund. To dive deeper, Microsoft didn't renew the license because they've been reading the forums about having a new online MechWarrior game.

All I see is PGI is walking on a thin ice.

I sure felt that way during the last AMA. He sounded like the real working title is MechWarrior Fi....nally done with this IP.

It goes way beyond that. PGI has been lying to its founders and players from the outset, when we were all told that if we supported the game financially by buying such things as mech packs, MC, cockpit fluff, and finally the Clan Wave I Invasion packs, then those funds would be used to develop Community Warfare under Russ' "4 Pillars" concept (mech warfare, role warfare, community warfare, and information warfare). The community responded in a big way and the money went rolling in. But what did we get? The Transverse debacle...in which those funds were clearly diverted in that failed attempt at developing a Star Citizen clone.

So...you have to good forgive us old timers who are extremely dubious about PGI's promises in general, and Russ' proclamations in particular.

Burn me once, shame on you, and burn me twice, shame on me!

Don't worry about Transverse. It's still coming.

What do you think all the money they got from Epic is going to go for?

MWO?

Nope.

Transverse 2.0 inbound.

(under a different name, to be sure, but same game).

Sadly, you may be right. Or else Epic just funded Russ' retirement plan, as somebody noted elsewhere.

Pointless to ask. Barring a leak or a screwup that info will never be publicly released.

Disagree, lot of people here are big mech fans. Stands to reason we'd want to know and a miracle might happen and a Dev might answer or we ask at a MW5 AMA and possibly get the answer.
