I would consider a purchase of MW5 over a purchase for MWO; MWO has much less life left in it.

Thanks for the input.
Yes, have pre-ordered MW5, and bought mech packs etc.
The idea on spreading the word to cover advertising makes sense for sure.
Hope the success of MW5 and shared dev and awareness re-invigorates MWO as hoped.
Not wanting to send the game down the P2W path, but I always liked the idea of being able to pay for some sort of once/account slight bonus for a favourite mech, like making it your own hero mech.
eg. Get a +10 engine rating on your select mech, or innate ammo perks ... could get quite a bit of $ from the dedicated player base without undue game breakage and let a degree of customisation if the engine permits it?

P2W would drive of even me, and I am a very active player (and customer). This late in the game's life cycle it would be insane, splitting the remaining player base. This is one of best qualities of MW:O, it does not do P2W very much. Not compared to many others, that is.
Again, I don't know why you insist on "supporting" a business as if it was a charity. If you want to spend your money that way: fine. There are many, many ways do so.
But if you want to know what other people need, you have to remember it is a business transaction. Nothing more, nothing less. It is not a support. So the business transaction must be attractive to both parties.

The irony, at least for me, is that since skills tree was announced and it became inevitable to me that PGI would try to drive their profits by never ending and constant "balance" passes (farwell rule of three), I have refused to spend a cent on the game (going from one who used to spend obscenely for the years prior). But now that we are in EOL mode, I am as pleased as I possibly can be. No monthly broad brush nerfs. Some actual improvements -however minimal in nature- to CW. No infuriatingly nonsensical/blatantly untrue comments from devs regarding "balance", the future of the game, or whatever. Frankly I couldn't ask for much more given PGI's known proclivities.
So here I am, once again giving serious consideration to spending again, even wanting to spend again in...but knowing full well that any spending I do will be of no benefit to the game or it's future development. LOL! Yes, I want to buy a mech pack, Russ! And here we are with no new ones to purchase because you (Russ) are seemingly hell bent on killing the game as soon as possible. LOL indeed.

I realized at the skill tree change the revenue paradigm had changed as well..... And, also, that it would split the player base and the game would need to return to it's root: single player modes.... Solaris and MW5 are just that.
It's a F2P and support if voluntary. Quality equals support (revenue). In that light, I haven't spent a penny since the Skill Tree Change:.....and, everyone I know left the game en masse. Now, it's a labor to report on game play and forum activities. They are used in the academics of new game development:......"Those whom fail to study history are doomed to repeat it..." So, MWO lives on in the real world of "what not to do" in a niche, small market, high IP viability environment and game......
One can hope that better days are ahead.... I do. But, me thinks, MW5 isn't that hope..... We will see.
