so november rolls around, i get my rtx card installed all ready to go for mw5. so it looks like the closed beta period is not until the 26th. but the game releases on december 10th. thats only 2 weeks of exclusive time. really disappointed.

They want to break the record for shorted beta ever to release. Expect typical pgi standard quality.

Where did you get the 26th from? Was it posted on Twitter?

Nov. 26th is from the most recent AMA, is it not?

Yes it was in the AMA, found it. Damn I realy thought it was beginning of November but that was about the "PR" starting a month before release. Mixed that up.

Think that is kinda of a bad move. Starting the beta this weekend with a preload time during this week would have been better.

There is no Beta. Per Russ' last AMA, they're now simply calling it a 'demo.'

Par for the course with PGI.

To me it doesn't matter much how the child is called. Anyone who truly believed it would have been a proper beta test phase to participate in, just one month before official launch date, was just delusional anyway.

Yeah, its not a beta anymore, it's a "demo".

PGI hasn't had a big issue with changing the conditions of the pre-order.

Which a demo requires its own development time because it's cutting the game up, rather than releasing a not-finished-current build.

Let's be real it wasn't going to be a 'beta test'. It was always going to be a demo or early access. But they really can't help themselves with not delivering what they promised. Constantly changings things. With all the delays it had better be good.

I also heard that supposedly it's because of threats of streamers breaking NDA. So essentially the demo will be okay to stream, since it's so close to release anyway. Which I can't help find laughable. Why would that be a problem? Unless the game IS bad and they're just afraid of it hurting sales. So glad I refunded and am waiting for videos and reviews.

yea i knew this was just exclusive early access which was supposed to be one of the last remaining perks for pre ordering. seems pgi has to screw with that one too.

its not really either one in my book. its not a demo, because that term was usually reserved for the try before you buy demos of ye olde golden era of gaming. back when devs were competent enough that they could show you exactly what you were buying without ruining their reputation in the process. that's even more misleading than calling it a 'beta'. at least beta is more honest as the state most games are when they release these days. if you are gonna call it anything call it what it is: exclusive early access.

its sad when a game company has to cover up their own products to stand a chance to turn a profit.

You mean altering the deal. And just as expected, they have altered it further.

I'm sure there are going to be people that will sail the high seas and won't pay a thing. :)

Given pgi's past with mwo are any of us really surprised by pgi ******* up more and more yet another attempt to play "developer." I never did pre-order because of it. I saved my money and I can just c-bill those other variants if/when they get set for c-bills.I would have pre-order-ed multiple copies for the family for steam but I decided to take the -its-pgi-better-wait-for-release approach. Then they switch from the bait to egs for a year and so on.

Yep and at the same time complain about PGI’s lack of integrity and honesty, kind of ironic.
