My suggestion is :
- Allow groups of 2-3 in QP, to allow MWO players to introduce their friends with their trial mechs to MWO.
- Restrict groups to 2-3 in FP, to allow the MatchMaker to finally start doing it's job. Groups of 12 made sense back when Factions meant something. Just leave big groups to comp play.
- If it's going to happen it should be now, before new players find out about MWO through MW5.

-- duo option to opt in the "normal" but can not opt out of group queue
-- duo need to select different weight class to be eligible for "normal" queue
-- duo uses highest tier and not average tier
-- duo locked out of games until group drop ends (to handle any attempts to play the system, suicides/DC in an attempt to get another game, even if they disband)
-- only one duo/side and both sides require a duo. MM is not allowed to "open up" to allow more than two or more per side.

-- Solo ability to opt into group queue but is still opt in "normal" queue
-- max 3 solo per side
-- Giving duo more options with normal queue will increase group availability.

-- Leave FP grouping as it is

Normal queue - duos, good and bad
-- duos who work together, providing an actual core for the team overall to work together. Would allow room for those who want to encourage more team work to speak up, as they already have one other who is going to work with them, yes?
-- For those duo who are not willing to work with the rest of the team, nothing really changes and will be dependent if the rest of the team attempts to stick with them (if possible)
-- Encourage players to log on and drop more, if they are able to drop regularly with a friend.. Friends who drop together, stay together and spend more time in the game.

I think that the Duo idea is pretty great. Imagine a streamer who does regular Sync-drops. That streamer will now be able to duo with one of the viewers for, say, 3 games while the rest of the audience continues to sync-drop or form duos of their own until the duo changes. This might result in more people playing together than rely on luck to be placed in the same game, let alone same team.

2. There isn't a MM in FW. If you want to introduce one, then the players first need to be sorted based on skill, not by an EXP bar.

Wrong, they've implemented a MM in FW.
However, there are usually not enough groups or players to make it work properly unless there is a FP event happening.

Coming back after some time off as I wanted to see how PGI will continue to develop this game.
What happened to community warfare? Why is that Teams still after all these years have to sync drop?
PGI what gives? As a founder I am seeing that this was never even really the case with you guys?
Did you guys straight up lie to us?

All is explained here. Jump to the 15:30 mark for the bad news.

Yeah, but the MM is Tier-Based so it doesnt count.

actually, it's elo based, with your tier providing a base elo to go from. The more games a player has in FP, the more will this reflect his impact. But I think it's only used for the pugs and not for groups.

MM works just fine in FP! I sat as a solo often enough in line just to be jumped by groups.

Yes, as i said tier-based.
But afair the MM "works" for Groups too, but all are in Tier 1, so it cant work as matchmaker.

1. Try a Group, check LFG
2. And you get jumped by all Tier 1 solos, so working as intented.

From the patch notes for May:

There will be a set amount of time where players enter the queue and the Match Maker holds the match creation until the timer expires. This creates one big queue of grouped and solo players combined. Once the hold timer expires, the Match Maker starts to create matches by pulling the biggest groups against each other from largest to smallest until it has exhausted all of the groups in queue. Odd sized teams are then filled with solo players based on a zero sum ELO from highest to lowest. Once this is complete, all of the matches are released to the dedicated game servers and the hold timer is started once again.

Paul later stated the the starting ELO is derivated from the Tier the player is in. But from that ELO kicks in an modifies said value according to the success of that player in FP.

how many ads have you seen for MW5 on places outside of this website?

I'm more aware of what's coming up for Donko Dongo no Momi Denkentestsuu Story Princess 7 on the Apple Watch or whatever generic Openworld Unity Asset Flip than I am of MW5.

and the Marketing by the Website from MW5 only since a bit longer as a Year ..before nothing to mW5 from PGI

Would be great if your group of 2-3 friends was matched up with an equivalent group of AI mechs of similar tonnage and we could grind out FW rewards that way.

That sounds like the coop mode in World of Warships, just replace the sea with land and warships with mechs. It can be done, it will be fun for a while, but in the long run, it can get boring.

Best kind of coop is what already every MMO has figured out --- the classic raid. You deal with multiple waves of enemies leading to the final boss.
