Undine, or better known as Species 8472, are blistering pissed at the collective Alpha Quadrant by a false flag attack from the Alpha Quadrant to Fluidic Space that turned out to be faked by the Iconians. So they decided to give the Federation, the Klingons and the Romulans a visit.

Species 8472 switches their attack to Qo'nos. Knocking out the Klingons would open the way to Undine conquest of the Alpha Quadrant. The chapter ends with the coming of an even more powerful enemy that had been hiding in the shadows all along. The real shadowmasters behind the shadowmasters.
