WTF OVER?
Now that MW5 has dropped, and all of us are waiting to see the amount of bugs the game WILL have, How about, while you are waiting, FIX THE MATCHMAKER SYSTEM! Its a small fix. Its not that hard. You could put at least 2 people on it and have it fixed in no time at all!
the tier system is a pathetic joke. You at PGI have effectively killed your player base because you simply refused to listen. Now because of that you decided to remove the tier seperation function.
When I first started playing MWO in 2014/15, I think at the time during QP matches, if you were T5 only T3, T4 and T5 were in QP. I could be wrong, memory isnt all that great anymore. However, here is my suggested fix for the system!
There are 2 main problems I noticed
1: You have all tiers fighting together. the game has gone so far down, that the players just dont even give a flying rats backside. Some of US who actually ENJOY the game still, are forced to deal with players during QP who just want to do their own thing. Plus, not to mention, since you Moderators have effectively gave up, the number of people using cheats/aimbots has skyrocketed. Mind you I am not the best pilot, nor do I claim to be, Im a mid level pilot at best, But I am stuck in T2.
FIX - Tier server 1 - T4's/T5's
Tier server 2 - T3's/T4's
Tier server 3 - T2's/T3's
Tier server 4 - T1's/T2's
Mind you this is just for QP Matches not CW/FP
2: Not everyone speaks the same language on QP/FP Pick up matches. I know the reason for the 3 different main servers. However, is it so damn frustrating when you are trying to be the DC in a QP match and no one can understand you, or no one can understand someone else because they dont speak the same language. I mean hell some units wont even allow pilots in their unit because they do not speak their language.
FIX - Language based Servers. I know this is rather difficult to do given the diverse number of players all over the world.
Why? because you killed your player base, so to try to put a band-aid on an arterial wound you made it so everyone can play together, and you wonder why so many players complain about having really **** games and "all the noobs", "potatos" or whatever terms they're using now, but I personally have a more colorful term I like to use.
Most of the time it is because they do NOT understand the different languages. Drop Caller tries to give out orders or a strategy and it fails miserably why? because Not everyone understands english, or german, or french, or afrikaans, or russian, etc.
Like i said I know this is kind of difficult to do, and takes a lot of work, But I know it would help things a bit.

Splitting up players even more in a game with (sadly) low player counts won't help anything. All it'll do is make wait times much longer, and people are more fine having unbalanced matches than waiting 15+ min just to queue.

It only takes 24 players to make a balanced 12 v 12 match

The only way to fix it, is to throw it out completely and make teams completely random. You're far more likely to end up balanced than it is now relying on a system where every **** eventually floats to the top of the pool.

Just replace Tiers with something like Kill/Death ratio.

Game is too dead for multiple buckets. The best we can do is have an equal amount of good + bad players split between each team. Someone else should be able to tell you if that's what we already have now.

And here we have another totally misguided suggestion for the MM because OP doesn't understand, well, anything if the state of MWO.

Majority will agree that the current Tier setup/progression is a joke due to how PGI setup the very low MS threshold needed on the PSR in order to move up into Tiers.
As for remove the tier separation function...? You do realize players with LOW LOW average MS are moving up in Tiers and currently in Tier 1 and 2 simply due to bulldozing their way up due to the number of games they are dropping in?
This means players with avg 170ish MS with 20k+ games played are in Tier 1 and 2? Increase that to avg 200 MS and fewer games are in the same boat.
Looking at your avg, you are avg 195 MS w/3600ish games. Are you T1, or still T2? Doesnt really matter. The differences in your games will be based on how many on your team really wants to play as a team vs being Rambos, any sort of communication vs deadly silence, with YOU being the only constant..... One poster in another thread had commented that he found a better "atmosphere" in lower tier games because there were more individuals who wanted to communicate and actually work together vs T1-2 games where communication is generally lower and fewer individuals are unwilling to take lead due to the increased negative feedback, the "saltiness" of players. And then even many of those players "assume" since they are in Tier 1-2, their teammates should KNOW what to do.../chuckles....
/shrugs... PGI does not have to open up the Tiers for matches to go to extremes, one way or another due to how the Tier/PSR is setup, and the MM is setup to only use Tier to fill up the teams in SQ. Thus the MM sees a Tier 1 assault player w/avg 350 MS as an equal to a Tier 1 assault player w/avg 180 MS, no need for MM to open up things between Tiers.
