Every mission it takes a while of doing nothing before you can even launch the mission. Whats exactly happening with that long loading. Playing by yourself there shouldn't even be a loading bar.

And even on SSD the loading is long. I guess this is a downside of the game.

just get a faster drive, or more memory if your PC ran out (comps will use hard drive space as extra RAM when out of memory, but it is terribly slow)

Actually i think it's quite clever what PGI did here.
Regardless of single or multiplayer, every game always have to load all assets (textures, models, sfx, ect.) it needs for the mission. For modern 3D games this can take a while even with SSDs.
But most games just show you a loading bar AFTER you started a mission and force you to stare at said bar until loading is finished.
MW5 however starts loading in the background right after you accepted a mission while you are free to choose mechs and pilots. Sure, if you have a lance that don't need any change for the given mission, there is no benefit and it may feel strange at first that there is a loading bar during mission preparation.
But if you happen to play around with your lance composition for just a couple minutes you basically skip any boring loading time and can jump right into the action. I really appreciated this behavior in the Demo which i accidentally installed on my regular HDD. Loading takes an eternity without SSD, so i was able to skip many minutes of loading time while configuring my instant action loadout.
