I've wondered already after reloading. Now I got the final evidence...
After finishing a mission there is an autosave created. This happens after you have chosen your salvage out of the list.
When loading that savegame you end up in the hangar. What's missing? The loot you've chosen. Why do I know? Well maybe because the salvaged mechs always disappear when doing that.
Is it only me? Seeing pink elephants flying around?

Not only you, I've had this a few times now and I've seen it on a live stream from Baradul.
Its incredibly frustrating taking all points in salvage only for it to all disappear!

Happened to me as well.
I think the auto-save is saving right at the mission end point, prior to making salvage selections, but the load is returning you to the hanger, just after the post-mission selections are made. So there is a gap.
I bet the available salvage isn't saved either. I'd say the auto-save is being triggered at the wrong spot.

I've experienced this. I lost a salvage Locust because I loaded after-match, and I only loaded cose' when I was switching my mechs around in the mechbay order, the game managed to turn my centuion into a phoenix hawk copy.
Therfore, i discovered a new bug - mech copying!
If you pull a mech in your mechbay to a different slot, that mech might be copied over the mech under the slot you dragged it to.
I ended up mius one centurion, plus one Phoenix hawk.
It only happened once, but there it is..
