So in the short run, the last mission basically had you do what the Wolf's Dragoons (had a hand in) / Gray Death Legion (actually did the deed) more or less did in 3028-ish, which was secure the helm memory core and make sure everyone gets a piece.

(Since what Comstar does is mostly secret even after 3028 when they're thwarted by GDL, I wonder how the merc unit we play as discovers what they're doing..)

Your story came to a close on the 10th of March, 3047. Too soon to encounter the Clans.

I think that the game is more often then not bottlenecked by the processor. You really need the latest hardware to run the heavier missions well. Especially the processor.
