I have visited plenty and often taken a detour, never seen anything even slightly worth picking up.

I am in dire need of a few "exotic ammo" rounds like missiles for my artemis LRM 20, never used it since I never had ammo for it.

Does it come later in the game?

Visiting every "rare weapon" planet has been pointless thus far.

From my experience, Black Markets are those that have a full stock of ordinary stuff in a conflict zone. That's about it.

Black markets are literally just markets in a conflict zone - nothing more than that. Otherwise you can only get single heat sinks and basic ammo in conflict zones. It’s not like with Battletech where you get the best and rarest items, just a normal selection.

LRM artemis ammo is available where ever an LRM Artemis weapon is being sold - they’re rare, but unless they’re good quality they’re not actually a “rare” weapon, they just turn up as normal weapons. Travel through a few industrial hub systems, and as soon as you see it, pick it up. Better yet, when you buy an LRMA weapon, buy out the store ammo then and there.

On the topic of finding LosTech (Streak, Artemis, U/AC and LB-X), if your game goes long enough they become a lot more available in stores.

The Helm Memory Core, which had the data on manufacturing such weapons, was recovered in 3028, and it was cool to see the game reflect that.
