I'll just start by saying i'm really enjoying the game, but that does not mean it can't improve. So after about 30 hours of gameplay here are some places i'd love to see expanded.

Pilots, While i love the unique aspects of pilot levels (aka how much XP they can gain in certain skills) the number of custom portraits are sadly lacking. More pilots, or perhaps a Mod from BT's custom ronin/KS pilots being used in this game would be fantastic. But just adding more unique pilot portraits and VO's would be great.

Yes a bunch of these are basically strait from BT's additions, but they would work great for this game as well.

Story/campaign/mini campaign missions. I really would love to see this side of things expanded. Story packs, unique mini-campaigns ala BT's Flashpoint style system would be great. Mini marik, or liao, or what ever. Even pirate, or other folks of ill repute would be cool.

A career mode, A score based system, with the planets, and levels a bit more randomized and expanded for each area of space. If i wanna play as Liao, why can't i just hang around in liao space and have access to all levels of missions.

Expanded difficulty settings. These could be used in a hopefully future career mode, and the base game. (all would be check boxes or sliders)

Salvage costs, (a checkbox that doubles the cost of salvage items.)

Damage reduction/increase. (Slider) a modifier to the damage you and your lance takes. .25, .50, .75, 1.00, .1.25, 1.50. 1.75. 2.0, Basically your range would be from 1/4 damage to double damage taken. I'd think this would be the easiest way to change difficulty for new players to making it harder with a 4 man of vets. I'm not sure how the engine handles all this damage stuff, but instead of messing with AI, or changing weapons, or increasing spawns, a simple damage modifier to me would be fairly strait forward and easy to understand. This could be changed at any time for people that get stuck on missions, or think things are to easy.

Pay scale, (slider) Like above, just add a simple modifier, though perhaps just 4 levels would be sufficient, but then again 8 wouldn't be bad either as it is simple and strait forward.

Mech destroyed on CT destruction, Loose that CT your mech goes Crit to the great salvage market in the sky.

Double repair times, Another simple and strait forward difficulty item, would be more about a career mode as score and limited time would be in affect, this one would not effect the base game much, though paired with decreased money it might make things a bit harder to keep your group afloat.

NPC pilot death. Mech goes boom, you loose the pilot too!

No mechs on markets, Sorta self explanatory. Only way to get a mech is through salvage.

No hero mechs on market. Again self explanatory, basically a way to make the game harder especially in a career/score mode.

Biomes, MORE BIOMES!!!

Moonscape, The low grav HPG stylings

Swamp, Get stuck in the bog

City/town/industrial parks. I'd love to see this one added, It was great in BT, and i'd love to see it here.

NPC commands.. While not fully AI, these would be AI style commands that can help make the AI work in ways you deem helpful. (many of these commands have been used in Dragon age) That game has a great AI scripter that you can set up custom AI scripts for NPC's. You could tie the Scripts to pilots, or perhaps even mechs with NPC pilots in them. Really besides F-commands i'd love to see a semi robust AI scripter added too!.

Defend this points. (basically a flag that keeps a mech in a basic area) Think of a base, and you want one mech at each corner for example. Or maybe you set your long range mech on a bluff over looking the base or area of attack. The mech would stay in a basic area until given a move command

Defend mech. the ability for a mech to defend another, aka you see a light attacking your LRM boat assault you can send off a short range fighter to help um out. Or maybe you have a long range sniper helping a brawler. Basically instead of using "attack my target" You are using the command "defend my target/mech" that would make any enemy attacking the flagged mech a viable target.

Attack from range, Short, Medium, long. A basically setting you can give to your AI pilots that would default to what you want. While it might not always be perfect, giving them a preference to learn towards would be great.

Basically these commands could be added to the f5-f8 keys and add a bit more options and a little bit of the whole Mech commander style of game play. After all you are the leader and calling the shots, so a bit more control on this side of things would be great.

Some of this list is much more work than others for sure, but i'd think some of it could be easily adapted and would improve the over all game experience for noobies and vets alike. So what would you like to see added?

More tanks and VTOLs. IIRC like with mechs different houses and parties have different tanks they use. Since PGI went through the trouble of giveing each faction their specific mechs it feels strange that the tanks are allways the same...or at least they have been for me.

Schrek PPC carrier would be nice and if you reach beyond 3054 in campaign, we should at least see some Rommel with Gauss as well, that would be sweet Posted Image
Also from 3053, a Demolisher with dual Gauss would be an interesting enemy. Posted Image

ability to repair and refit a mech at the same time. Unsure why in the year 3000 people have lost the ability to multitask? I don't care if it adds the same time, but it sucks making 1/2 jumps in order to refit weapons after your first jumps covered the repairs. In the same area, why do I need to remove weapon hard points from a destroyed area (which takes time)...the area is destroyed so there should be nothing to remove...

The ability to give orders using the mini map. defense missions can be pretty hard as they as the tend to start as soon as your in range, and your mechs will happily shoot and run through any buildings doing the enemies job for him. So would be able to give move/guard orders without having to have direct line of sight. And more variety in the orders you can give, even some very old games allow you to set the AI to things like close support, long range etc...

You can repair from the refit interface. It's an extra couple clicks, though.

Also, if a component is destroyed, why do you think that it's perfectly clean, surgical destruction? 'Destroyed' doesn't mean 'disappeared'. There's going to be parts of the old non-functional system still in place, torn linkages, shrapnel-filled connections, shredded wires...it'd probably take far more work to remove and replace a destroyed component than to swap between functional ones.

PGI - Here's a few suggestions for features you could add

Mission Types

Escort: Already discussed in a podcast and they had several good ideas how to work it, but just a reminder, not all of us hate it, and no one says you have to accept the mission but it'd be a nice option.

SLDF Cache Discovery (Rare): Search for a SLDF Cache reported to be at X-location. Of course you aren't the only one looking for it so another unit or units will be there trying to get it. So you'd have to fight off enemy mechs and secure the site.

Reward: Losttech - Weapons, equipment such as Double HS, Pulse, ER Weaponry, etc. Mechs from the SLDF Era (Such as the missing Champion in the game, Annihilator, Highlander, etc)

The refit screen has a button on the right side for repairs so you can change your loadout, hit repair and then confirm and it will do both things at the same time.
It also says so in the tutorial video that hitting repair in the mainscreen is only repair and taht you should be carefull about it.
