Sorry if it's already been discussed, but couldn't find anything on that. When they tweaked the spawns, I thought it meant only location. However, were they also playing with difficulties? I started a game the day of the release and only play it COOP with some friends. It's been very easy until last patch. All of a sudden, missions we were doing easily are now kinda difficult.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a challenge, and I was finding it rather too easy. But, the difficulty now seems kinda "random". A mission difficulty 30 for example, can either be impossible or super easy now.
I started a second campaign to just solo play it and the first missions were even very hard, with tanks that required more damage to be destroyed, and were also doing a ton of damage. I am still doing missions level 15 ish, and encountered a tank that had like 6 x LRM 10. Where did that come from?
So, have I missed something? Am I alone finding there was a sudden spike in difficulty?

Yah something has to be wrong with the difficulty... I have just done a level 11 Assassination. My 2 targets were at the same spawn. Centurion + Hunchback and then spawned a Spider and Locust during the fight. Weight limit was rather low, I had to bring the following team Centurion + Assassin + Locust + Jenner.
Doesn't feel like we were a match. I succeeded but... was difficult for a level 11, which should be easy.

I have seen that tank once, and yeah immediately was the F1 spam on it

I have not noticed any special increase in difficulty.
I did progress another rank (from 8 to 9), and that did carry heavier mechs with it.
Most missions I fail, it's because I overheat and burn my stuff off, or because all the enemies come at me all at once when I rush in..
There was this one assassination mission where if you go straight for the base, they send EVERYONE at you at the same time, and you die. But if you go arround, you can pick off lots of the tanks and vtols from range and before the mechs engage you.
Sometimes you actually have to be a bit strategic to win.. and that's ok.

Well yes I agree with being strategic and having a bigger challenge. This is not really what I am questioning. What I am wondering is why I got a sudden spike of difficulty. My friends playing the coop campaign with me also noticed something changed in our campaign. Anyway... maybe I'm just hallucinating..!
All in all, I still rarely fail missions, even now with what I feel is an increase difficulty. Only difference is before it was easy and borderline boring, now it's a challenge. So again, I'm not complaining about the difficulty, just wondering what happened.

The :LRM60 tank is paper thin armor though. A single burst of AC/5 will kill it.
