I noticed something in a few matches so one I played this morning I did a test.

Yet another reason we need better testing tools even if allowing 4 v 4.

I found some Artillery pieces on a map in a mission.
Shot two about 90m and 70m with 2 Medium Laser Group Fired, destroyed each with 2 shots at 10 damage a shot.
Shot two about 90m and 70m with a single AC10 same damage as 2MLs, took 5 shots to destroy 1 Artillery piece.

Why does using 2 different weapons doing the same total damage at the same range require different shot totals to destroy the same target?

this happened to me on that mission where you go solo and have to destroy some antennas to not alarm the cities, it takes 2 gauss hits to kill, but one lpl shot to down it

go figure :)

gauss was lvl 4 btw.

Different weapons do different damages to structures of all kinds.

Try shooting a wall with ACs, then pull out some MGs. You'll see a serious difference, in the MGs favor.

Should not be that way is the point.

Happens to more than just structures.

I can one shot a Light tank with a AC10.
Shoot the same type of tank with 2 MLs in full damage range, it walks away orange or red but LIVES.
