I would just like to take a moment to give thanks and credit to those of you who have a Microphone, and use it to assist the team.
Some of us are a bit less skilled and appreciate the information, direction, and encouragement they provide.
NOTE: A few of us are only able to hear what is broadcast over the integrated, 'open' coms' since we do not utilize any 3rd party chat utilities, so please remember to keep that channel enabled, also.
This post is not intended for those that abuse the coms' by using the mic to constantly berate other teammates, or complain because a less skilled player makes a 'potato' move.
We have all been there at one time, and positive, informative feedback when you make a mistake goes a long way.
Also, beware of the bold vocal 'leaders', who start the match constantly giving direction, only to fall silent when things inevitably go wrong.

Again, thank you for your voice, perspective, and leadership.
21 gun salute * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * FIRE!

Peace, Mechwarriors.

If you're one of those pilots who listen to comms and assist the team, then I salute you.

I always felt, that was the reason for coms' in the 1st place.
To encourage playing as a team, not an individual 'lone wolf'.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with striking out on your own, as long as it doesn't hurt the team or the mission.
Peace

id rather people populate my sensors with target data. because the more stuff that is up there the better decisions i can make about positioning or which targets to engage. every time you press r or do target spotted it gives me important information as to what the enemy is doing, what direction they are moving, or where there are weak points i can exploit. sure you can do all that with comms. then i spend the next 5 seconds trying to find the grid that was called out. id rather have a blip where at a glance i can determine what that mech is doing. with enough people collecting data and enough blips, you can pretty much kill em before they know what hit them.

I will simply say this... if you are still playing and like to use your mic to assist in comms, I appreciate it! Even casual folks like hearing good banter, tips, and real updates as they happen.

tldr version, hold locks so I can lrm. Calling out of bad components is useless since I can't focus it. Can only lob missles.

please, out of 282 mechs i have exactly 2 lrm boats which i only use when an event specifically asks for lrm damage. im more into ballistics myself. assault mechs in particular need good information about enemy positions so i can get to where i need to be before the enemy knows where im going or even what mech im in.

i do sometimes use atms, but that's practically a brawling weapon and i usually use them like mrms and fire before they are locked.
