[50 50]

Bit of a curiosity question as I'm making up a list for myself and seeing a little bit of a pattern emerging.

I'd be interested to know from people what they might consider to be the classic iconic mech for each of the 5 houses in each weight category.

ie.
What would the classic Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault mech be for Kurita, Davion, Liao, Marik and Steiner if you could only pick one mech in each weight class.

Could also consider what might be considered classic mechs for the Periphery and Clans if you'd like to throw that in but may want to differentiate between the second line Battlemechs vs the Frontline Omnis.

What I've come up with so far and you'll see I'm trying to fit them within a tonnage limit:

As for classic periphery mechs:

The Brigand and HawkWolf are my top pics. The Brigand is all about home-grown piratey goodness and the HawkWolf is about as deep in the periphery as one can get:

I've been cross referencing the lists from Sarna.
Trying to look at the older mechs (pre 3050) mainly and the two I am having the most trouble with is an Assault for Liao and a medium for Kurita.

Blackjack is largely a Davion 'Mech, though Liao use some captured output due to necessity.

For Liao I'd go Cyclops

Kurita, Crabs.

Half the good ol' Marik mechs aren't in the game (looking at you Hermes II and Guillotine...)

The standard assault 'mech Capellans anchor their lines with tends to be the Urbie.

That's a joke, but AFAIK Liao really has no iconic assault 'mech -- they're too poor and 'mech-strapped to have one. Basically Vindicator is the standard Liao heavy 'mech (despite being a medium) and the Cataphract is the assault (despite being a heavy). And Urbies everywhere, including front-line units instead of the regular garrison duty the other houses use it for -- because there simply aren't enough 'mechs to go around.
