Should I accept the loss of my Tier 5 AC/20 manufactured by "Deathgiver" after two attempts on Black Dragon Pt1 even though it was a "win"...or yank that bad boy off and put a regular Tier 4 AC/20 on and try a 3rd time?

I'd restart it again. You probably won't be able to replace it.
So far I managed to get two T5 AC20s by 3070-80 or so.

well, it's up to you.
I don't use T5 unless I have a replacement, never failed if I did use a T5, and no replacement, RNG makes sure it's lost

so you can repeat, keep the T5 equipped, and if lost again, just repeat and hopefully you do a better attempt to winning and not losing your T5

in time, you may have plenty T5 of most everything (if not Everything), we just know that time is not right now Posted Image , so you can take it as a loss, and carry on, or repeat till it's no longer a loss

You can do it

I stopped careing for Tiers. You will loose stuff, maybe less on your own mech but on lancemates it will happen at some point.
Still you should manage to have a good stock of T3 weapons the more you progress so get used to it or just repeat and repeat the mission and lots of missions after that because I would say it won't be the last time you loose high tier stuff.

Tier 5 is two steps above T4 (by the stats), and very, very rare. They really give an edge.

Would do the mission over; T5 weapons are more scarce than heroes in this game.

If your lance-mate got it destroyed, then I have one question for you.. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING, MAN?!"

If you got it destroyed, grit your teeth and accept the loss.

I wonder the same thing every time I loose a Gauss riffle.

Those things cost an arm and a leg, and are rare to find..

Later you'll be able to buy gauss rifles / ammo / dual heatsinks / ultra acs / lbx everywhere.
I bought three Tier 4 gauss on one planet.
Haven't seen another T5 except the one I got from some mission.
