thought id get out my rose colored glasses and post a list of things still not copied from mwll that mechwarrior needs to be awesome. john lennon once said: "good artists create, great artists steal". it probably wasn't him that said it, he probably stole it, and thats why i have the white album lurking amongst a lot of black metal. pgi needs to steal some mechanics already.

jump jets

mwll had a fairly straight forward controllable jj mechanic. nose down to go forward nose up to go back or slow down, level to go straight up. also i feel like we got super nerfed jets inherited from mwo.

tag

i like the ability to point laser at thing and then have everyone shoot their missiles at that exact spot. had a much more immediate result in mwll rather than being a lock/spread buff. i feel like im pointing a flashlight at the enemy most of the time.

narc

again nothing like shooting a mech and then within 3 seconds have a lance worth of lerms smash into it. it should be a ******* delete key. its also why narc is big, heavy and has too few round/ton ammo.

stackpoling

like a nuke went off in your living room type boom. looks abit dinky i think.

slash damage

why are we afraid of stupid ai getting butthurt? make weapons splashy.

i think i will stop there. i wont bring up anything electronic warfare related as im not sure this game even has ecm at all given where it takes place on the timeline. even though they introduce it in the first mission.

JJ Mechanic sounds fun.

Please don't add "delete key" stuff. Thats just terrible.

Stackpoling. If you mean a better sound, yes. More damage or bigger spash. No. The current version is a good compromise between realism and fun.

Slash damage? You mean splash damage right? Well the weapons spread there damage allready quite well if you want to.
Or do you mean more in the way of flashy...like have a better FX?

i always felt tag and narc were highly marginalized in mwo. i think mwll's mechanics were better. if a tag is active any missiles in its range will chase it (no matter where its pointed). narc behaves as a constantly tagged target. i mean if you want to keep it from being op there are things you can do, like nerf spread, minimize narc duration, etc. narc is huge and heavy for what it does.

as for splash i mean the mechanic where if an explosive weapon hits somewhere near the mech, it gets attenuated damage applied. size of effects should display the splash radius. and im not talking false splash like what the mwo cerppcs do.

stackpoles need to be about 25-50% larger. higher damage perhaps.

these are normally troll mechanics in multiplayer games, but in single player games they are just fun as hell.
