I bought the Orion Protector when I stumbled on to it. Good mech. But it takes minor armor damage and repair charge is $300k? My Black Knight takes worse damage and is cheaper to fix, like 175k for same damage. Oh well.

Engine, armor, DHS, higher-tier weaponry...

**** gets expensive.

Welp, minus the engine.

But if you're in years before ferro, the price is gonna be through the roof.
Edit: I've also noticed that location (namely which conflict zone you're in) seems to play a role in adding additional expenses.

Could it have something to do with it's Ferro-Fibrous armor? MW5 doesn't show you any stuff like Endo-Steel in the Mechlab, but it all seems to be there regardless.

What definitly plays into the prices is of you are in a conflict zone or hub. Then it seams like the closer to the perephery you get the more expansive it is too.

It does have things like Ferro armour and hence costs more to repair than the regular Orion. It is the same with other mech variants. Some are more expensive to repair than other variants.

I notice that all my Hero mechs cost more to repair than standard mechs. I bought a Marauder-3R wreck, gave it DHS and Med Pulse Lasers and it is cheap to repair, 25% of the Protector costs. Hero mechs, the mechs you keep paying for.

I am Davion alligned at the moment and that is where I repair, rarely in a war zone, usually at one of their commercial hubs. It eats up the time clock though, traveling so much.

You should check and see if traveltimes and cost are similar to what it would cost you just to repair in a warzone.
Like when your extra repaircost sums up to 300.000 and you need to travel 2x 150.000 to get to a hub then you can just repair on the spot.

there was a curious moment, I checked repair cost in conflict zone, then spent 150k to industrial planet, the repair cost was exactly the same, only difference, was time to repair

what confused me, was, i was near a border, the conflict was on a side I don't have much rep, the industrial zone was on a border side I have high rep for, and yet the cost was the same., plus the 150k
don't think there would had been a auto save, though guess probably one at end of mission (just now thought of that), could had saved me 150k.

It should had been cheaper, but I still had the 300k repair showing, between the 2 locations (that was just the one mech), I was curious if it was going to be less then the 300k, and it wasn't.
So I guess some rep is just as good as High rep

It's definitely ferro armour. The Protector has it, Kintaro-19, King Crab 000 and others and it's very costly.
