60 kph is excellent for an Assault, your build is much too reliant on people not noticing your paper leg armour. As soon as a Light hugs your legs they're going to guess where the ammo is and be quickly treated to a fireworks display. There's also the scattershot nature of your weapons - higher spread on the SRMs and multi-shot on the UAC. A regular AC20 and Artemis equipped SRMs will put a hefty punch into a more compact location at more or less the same time, giving you more opportunity to wiggle your torso to spread incoming damage.

Tbh i have yet to be legged, and artemis on is mechs seems to be more of a luxury than a must have. Also airstream........
Its not like I would use this for FW.

but there's a reason many would run it differently;
again: nothing wrong with doing your thing; just accept it's not in your own interest doing so.

That is because you put points into speed tweak to get yours to 70km'h... Speed tweak being a gross waste of points btw.

The difference between a 350 and 365 engine is only 3-4km/h as a baseline so it's actually negligible based on that. Long as you run 60km/h or faster, that's fine for QP. All my Assaults in the sub 100T region run around that.

The question is why do you get squashed? Are you trying to stand toe-to-toe with bigger mechs or are you fighting 1v5 against an enemy firing line? If it's the first one, then you probably want a mech with high DPS or a big alpha so you just win the brute force trades. Being in a heavy or assault won't help positioning/timing problems like the second issue.

I think you're pretty much guaranteed to win any close-range face-to-face, 1v1 trade with a Scorch or something similar with 90+ alphas. Same goes for anything with 2 HGR and some lasers like a Fafnir and it can also have ECM. Blood Asp with ECM and Gauss Vomit works well too, but more for longer range engagements and peek and shoot.

I guess you go with the popular ones like the MCIIB UAC or BAS UAC10/3xUAC5 with ECM.

Very few people aim for arms in Quickplay. I run into one every badozen games. Most players don't even shoot lights with open legs and keep hammering the godlike hitboxes on their torsos.

No love for the MDD-C?

81 kph (that's IS medium speed) and the armour of an assault, throw on a couple of LBX-20s and you can bull-rush almost any mech 1v1. More if one was feeling brave:

they certainly are mechs you dont want to get flanked with. but they are great with head to head combat.
