Hi, i do not know if this was discussed already but why the AMS has different tiers but no specifications?

thankyou! i have no clue what does higher tier ams does but just hoard them whenever i saw one. too bad it is super ez for atlas K to lose their arms so i lost all 8 of my tier 4 AMS. it sucks

Oh, yeah you lost it often, if i remember correctly so i lost it only once, maybe twice. I am using long range loadouts on K variants to minimize damage.

How do you even install AMS. I haven't seen a mech yet that has a hard point for it. Am i missing something?

Only a few mechs have AMS hardpoints, like the Spider Anansi and Catapult Jester. There are a few others as well. Only those mechs come with AMS installed. You can't remove it from them and use it on another mech that has no AMS hardpoint.

From my experience spider hero mech Anansi can mount double AMS, hero mech Jester can mount double AMS too, Atlas variant K can mount single AMS and Grasshopper 5J can mount single AMS too. Usage of AMS is very limited, i would use AMS on more mechs if it would be possible but i am not going to complain about it.

Stats (from editor):

Lvl1:
Missile destruction rate: 3.5 / s
Ammo: 30 / s
Range: 200 m

Lvl5:
Missile destruction rate: 6.125 / s
Ammo: 30 / s
Range: 250 m

Fun fact: PGI imported AMS models (and basically all other weapon models) for all mechs in the game, but didn't put them to the hardpoint definitions table or on the mech variants. That's where we modders come in - I'm adding AMS and MWO hardpoints and all variants. Eventually. Slow work.
Many of them have dual AMS even.

I prefer official patching, i am not going to download any mod.

Wait, you don't have Advanced UI, Increased Weapon Loadouts, Paint Scheme Saving, etc.,?

Exactly, my game is in pristine condition. And i finished the campaign 4 times.

Dude, go install those mods. They are absolutely fantastic. You won't regret it, especially the Increased Weapon Loadouts. With that, you can bring some nice loadouts but still be restricted by the game's balance. So, you can bring 2 AC10s + AC20 and things like that on a Mauler instead of being forced to only small ballistics. With some armour stripping, you can bring a Gauss Rifle on a Firestarter, just like in MWO Posted Image

Not sure if this was discussed, but it seems AMS can go thru walls, whereas missiles cant.

AMS is not a physical weapon, it is a logic that randomly destroys missiles in its range (a sphere that detects missiles) with some added effects to see when it's doing something.
Same as MWO.
