I know you can take a screenshot while you're playing, but from what I can tell you can't take a screenshot of your Mech from the front. Wanting to take a front Pic to use as wallpaper etc, just not finding an ingame way to do it. It's there some way to accomplish that?

H'm how you did that? Through some retouch of in game screenshot, some filters? Looks good, realistic.

Or you can do it the way our ancestors did in the days before all this fancy capture software

Alt+Print Screen, open paint brush, Ctrl + V, save as JPG

Ha!  Well that's it. I'm officially an ancestor. I'm still using the print screen button and copy to Paint trick. Now that works for capturing quick play ends game stats etc, I just couldn't figure out if there was an option to get a front shot of my Mech. I'll try the free am thing when I get off work. My graphics card comes with software a well but still... If I'm driving the Mech, it's still only going to capture what's on the screen.

ALT+F2 is the default to get into the Nvidia photo mode (depth of field, colors, effects etc). Paired with MWO F5 free cam, you can get shots like the Hellbringer above.

I used Nvidias Ansel tool to make that screenshot. It comes with some build in tool to edit the image

Wait. So I'm looking at the mwo settings, sitehttps://wiki.mwomercs.com/index.php?title=File:Hud.jpg, found here, and I'm not seeing F5 as assigned to anything. I'll try it once I get home, but the supporting documents here don't show anything for F5 including another link when searching "mwo keyboard commands" . This is why I initially felt that maybe the game wasn't capable of doing this, short of asking a random online player hey can you take a pic of me. Where is documentation that shows F5 is the key binding for this?

FFS, MWO has built in capture to JPG. You just press Print Screen and it saves a screenshot to your storage...

It's useable in training grounds.

Or if you are using Steam, it's just F12. much easier in my opinion. That or if using the Nvidia overlay, just click the 'snap' button - done.

I forgot how fun it was using Nvidia Ansel video capturing software. I wasn't sure how to freecam in the testing grounds until I saw this thread. Here's a screenshot with some cool effects throw onto it:

I was able to use F5 to move around in Testing Grounds, but man.... The movement controls are so touchy, they are like seriously our of whack. One little touch of the forward button and I'm now 50 feet away from my last position. I saw there was a (left shift I think) modifier, but that made twice as bad. Then I tried changing mouse sensitivity settings just to see if it might affect it, nope.

Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity of movement in just moving the free camera around?

Ok, mech looks very cool and the blurry background. I will try some options. Some shots are like time capsule.
