The builds in that database is accurate and effective. You can use it without any issues. You can ask here what kind of playstyle you're trying to achieve in that Grasshopper and someone will post a build for you as well.

That is the correct link, you should probably distrust any other build sites. Read the guides too, they're very informative.

Pgi isnt patching anything. So the meta list is still accurate. Ofcourse u can find other good list. Even if they are slightly outdated, the builds havent changed much for a while now.

Should be correct enough, seeing how there have been no balance patches in a year now:

META LISTS:
Grimmech's tier list, a good resource for powerful builds for playing in quickplay, where anything in S-tier is amazing or good, and most things in A-tier and good: https://grimmechs.is...ts?list=general
If you play faction play in particular, this list is also worth checking out, and again S-tier is great, while A-tier is mostly good: https://grimmechs.is...list=specialist
BTW, the Grimmechs meta list is incomplete and some builds can be further personalized, but none of them are bad for their chosen mech and variant.
Here's an old meta list that's more than a year out of date with current meta but more complete than grimmechs and most of the mechs on the list are still good, made by denairwalker: https://docs.google....t#gid=868162679
Here's a meta list made by lurm god that's also not complete and also slightly out of date: https://docs.google....t#gid=514569952
Here's a meta list made for faction play by mcgoat recently: https://docs.google....SQt0/edit#gid=0
Here's a meta list made for faction play by Magic Pain Glove: https://docs.google....#gid=2024075940
Lastly, if you've ever heard of metamechs that list is completely dated and none of those builds are optimal any longer.

50% of the fun in this game is coming up with your own builds, I would use any pre-builts as a reference and then tweak to your own liking.

Ok, I found this grimmechs data base, and found to really like it., and the builds. My question is, what do the different tiers in the tier lists mean? I think the major thing it actually taught me, is when building a mech, you're only limited in weight, and slots. Otherwise there are many things to actually adjust to make something fit. Also, to build to ones play style.

They're a ranking for how well the 'Mech can theoretically perform, "theoretical" is important because the gauss Warhammer for example, is a total liability for anyone who doesn't know the maps inside and out. There are two rankings - one for quick play, and one for faction play / range (the specialist rank).

Just keep in mind that some of the info on Grimmech's Rifleman IIC info page is a little outdated and invalid. Since it was implemented, the Rifleman IIC's hitboxes have been properly fixed and adjusted accordingly. I will argue that is it not more fragile than a Jagermech, and while not a tanky mech by any means it can take a beating as long as you are not the main focus of direct enemy fire.

And unfortunately a lot of the playerbase is not good enough to run sub-optimal stuff.

Nonsense.
If someone is that bad a meta build will not help him very much. So what? He’ll be a few points lower in PSR?
Mess with the builds. Try crazy stuff.
The meta is boring as F#(|<.

For the General List:

S is the best. Superb. Supreme. Super. These are gonna be easy farming, easy win that can be used in most situations. Easy mode mechs.

A is your very good to great mechs. These are your *standard* very good, high performing mechs.

Anything below A you're really specializing or going into meme territory. There are still lots of good builds in B tier; Heavy Guass Champion, LB40x Hunchie, ERPPC Nova, Laser vom Roughneck, UAC10 Reaver, brawl Roughneck, brawl Corsair.

It's not a unanimous decision though, there is some disagreement over which mechs belong where but it gives you an idea of what is really good ez mode and what is just okay

Beyond that just...don't.

The links to the spreadsheets quoted in Sniper's post above are good resources. Lurm God's spreadsheet also has skill tree builds, which are very helpful for new players. I would also add Yondu's FP guide here: https://docs.google....KgQM/edit#gid=0
