That blog post is giving credit to Bishop Steiner for the creation of the mech, but it appeared in a Critical Hits comic years ago. Unfortunately the old NGNG forum appears to be entirely deleted from existence (Bing links bring me to NGNG's Twitch page instead of the forum) so I can't dig up proof.
