No. And the "old" mechs you're talking about are all either Clan tech or Unseen, which means they won't be in for a long time anyways.

As far as I know the ones that have been revealed; if I recall correctly I think there will be 15 or so at release.

LOL, the game year is 3049, those mechs are considered to be brand new when they show.

There are plenty of old mechs confirmed:

Atlas

Cataphract

Catapult

Centurion

Cicada

Commando

Hunchback

JagerMech

Jenner

Raven

Spider

Stalker
Trebuchet

No clan mechs like madcat or nova, at least not for a while. Many of the old favorites aren't even usable by Piranha Games because of licensing (known as the "unseen" mechs). Here's a confirmed and speculative list, but be aware these could be subject to change http://mwowiki.org/i...title=Main_Page

I'm interested in what clan mechs they will add once the invasion begins.. Wouldn't mind seeing a Vapor Eagle.. Been one of my favorite mechs since reading the Ghost of Winter.

That book made me a fan of the Vapor Eagle as well. :)

I'm sure we'll see the "core" Clan 'Mechs like the Summoner, Timber Wolf etc. but who really knows. I'm not as interested so much in the 'Mech list as what they'll look like once they receive the "Flying Debris Treatment."

Honestly they should just focus on all the 'mechs that didn't get any love in the past games, like the Crab.

But the crab... well... It was an okay mech. Just wish the king crab actually get implemented. lol...

Back to the original thread...
Clan mechs... well, I understand that they are old... (in a way)...
But you have to understand that most BT players consider them to be new. Even BT lore, supports that they are not old; they are relatively new. Throwing out the lore and just looking at MWO alone makes things even worse. The start of this game seems to be August 3049, clan mechs are REALLY new. Why? Simple, the clans only just invaded the periphery last March and the inner sphere itself doesn't get hit till 3050 (next year).

Now, I'm not going to debate whether the clan invasion will take place or not. There's another thread for that. What I will say however, is that "old mechs" have always been pre-clan invasion mechs. This means that we have to deal with the all too horrifying word "lostech". Thanks to the recovery of the star league library core (Helm Memory Core) by the Gray Death Legion, the inner sphere was beginning to recover some of this lost tech, but even so, IS tech was still pretty atrocious in 3049.
Then there's those of you who got spoilt by MW4. I'm not bashing the game, I utterly loved it... I will also admit that I greatly loved mech 1 and 2 as well (and hated mech3)... Hell, I even loved Battletech: The Crescent Hawks' Revenge. In MW4 (and even mech 2), there was the prevalence of clan tech and advanced IS tech, which is what spoilt many of us. You gotta remember, in 3049, the Inner Sphere didn't have much in the way of advanced tech: there were no extended range lasers or PPCs, there were no streak SRMs, there were no double heat sinks, no ferro-fibrous armor, no endo steel, no XL engines, etc etc... While true enough, there were copies of advanced IS tech, it was really rare stuff that were either with the Wolfs Dragoons or holed up in the NAIS.

This is back to basics... Now, I need to check whether I can cram a large laser into a Spider...

As stated previously, the "list" of announced 'mechs is here.

And as MWO is a Free 2 Play title, it will never be "final". PGI will continue to reiterate, add content, balance, and add 'mechs as long as the fanbase is there.

So to answer your question "What Mechs will be in the final version"? Hopefully *ALL* of them.

Cheers

Yeah I know...I was mocking the description in the OP of the Nova and Timber Wolf as being 'old' by applying a kind of reducto ad absurdum to it

Calling the Urbie now. Watched the Nvidia weekend livestream on Gamespot. The desktop image shown from the weekend happens to be the elusive Urbanmech as the wallpaper if my eyes are not fooling me.

Ah, I gotcha now, I'm just terrible at catching tone through forum text. Mea culpa. :D

EDIT: For weird double post.
