This goes out to Piranha staff,

I play a lot of BT board games and I must say the models made by MWO are amazing and would love to have them for table top.

I heard this is a touchy topic on IP. So I got thinking, the BT table top still has a good crowd of players. Why doesn't Piranha license out their 3dModels to IronWind Metals. Piranha Games could get a percentage cut of the profits and have some income coming in besides the current method Piranha is raising money.

Just a thought.

Cheers!

Catalyst Game Labs who makes Tabletop already does this.

That's an understatement.

Microsoft have only the computer software rights for BattleTech, outside of minor physical merch for advertising anything non-digital means negotiating with Topps who owns the BattleTech tabletop license proper. HBS tried that, and look at how that turned out. Expensive "adult collector" items that were too pricy for people thus they flopped.

The artist who makes mech designs for PGI and the artist who makes mech designs for CGL are friends if I remember correctly. You can see a lot of mutual influence in them.

Most of the new designs from CGL Battletech Kickstarters are gorgeous and in similar style to what we have in MWO.
