The Chilling (1989)
Rated R. Linda Blair and Dan Haggerty
The Chilling is a 1980's zombie flick, with all the flare of an 80's movie. The movie begins with a religious morality issue about cryogenic suspension. It proceeds with a group of protesters outside of the Universal Cryogenics lb. A green fluid is injected into the bodies that are received by the lab before being frozen. This substance has an unstable electrical property (spoiler). As Halloween approaches a group of bank robbers hit the Kansas City bank, and one of the robbers is badly wounded during a shootout. His father has the dying robber to the lab. What the wealthy father dos not know is the lab is also harvesting organs for the black market. When a lightning storm hits the lab, the bodies come back to life and you end up with a bunch of gross looking zombies running around in mylar suits.
The movie is comprised of low budget special effects and a thin plot line and an off take on Grizzly Adams. If you are really bored and going out of your skull due to the COVID, and it's late at night you might find the movie worth watching. Not for children. Violence, language, zombie horror, blood, a couple of jokes that should be banned, alcohol, and a brief bit of nudity (not even worth getting excited about).
