Myself and a unit mate were talking about how it would be interesting to have Unit banks of things like MC, GSP, etc. that could be granted to unit members by the unit leader.

Event, and community organized events like TOC could reward the unit, instead of individuals, and the unit can be responsible for dividing up the granted GSP/MC/etc.

This can be expanded from just things like TOC/Comp Que to include participation in events. The more unit members that participate in the event, the more the unit can collectively earn.

Unit loot bags, and grants would go into the unit bank and be granted to members by the unit leaders.

Well, I guess you could make it that way ... But why complicate things?

As it is now, every MWO player gets exactly as many loot bags as he deserves, i.e. as he earns directly. It is absolutely transparent and honest.

Implement some form of socialist redistribution and you could create a lot of bad blood.

It would be for Units to do something together. Possible larger prizes...

You could even eventually do something like let Unit plan their own community events, where the things they have accumulated could be used for prizes.
