In thrall of those fallen from grace
Petty is as petty does
Witness the mass disgrace

On the way
Trying to get where I'd like to stay
I'm always feeling steered away
By someone trying to tell me
What to say and do.
I don't want it.
I gotta go find my own way.
I gotta go make my own mistakes.
Sorry man for feeling,
Feeling the way I do.
Oh yeah, oh yeah.
Open wide and they'll shove in
Their meaning of life.
Oh yeah, oh yeah
But not for me. I'll do it on my own.
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Open wide and swallow their meaning of life.
I can't make it work your way.
Thanks but no thanks.
Nope never could make it work their way

and while im on an old skool black metal binge
which culminates in the late 80s and brings us this:
some people die and some religious stuff catches on fire, it goes on through the 90s while the grungies pretend that nirvana is the best thing since sliced bread. they could have had steak, rare, very rare. then in the 00s it becomes popular and turns to crap very fast.
and if you want the true history of black metal:

celtic folk and black metal go together like bacon and more bacon.
black metal on its own is a stagnant mess of old bands rehashing their old stuff with a lot of posers playing catchup to something that hasn't gone anywhere. but when fused with other musics it really works out. case in point:
their recordings suck (especially their new blm themed album), but put them in front of an audience and they kick ***.
