Nothing mate. Simple fact, links and citations rule cut and paste cherry-picked to make yourself feel better. Clans had it, as the link made clear, and over a dozen Battletech books had in them... so nothing to argue about, you can go be a bitter pill somewhere else. Although, I guess the only thing we are running into is that you hate being wrong and insist on trying to insert discord into a fun thread to bring it down.

Stop doing that or I'll report you for repeatedly attempting to derail threads with instigated conflict and provocation which is a violations of the TOS. If you have to try and prove something you can do that by PM'ing me to wade through and sparing an innocent thread your childish outbursts. I can't be much clearer than that, you are warned.

Back to the Thread's actual subject!!! Posted Image

I'm looking forward to trying out a Raven in Stealth soon after watching someone run one with MRMs to great effect!

VonBruinwald is right. The Clans have kept the Star League NullSig technology, but their Warrior caste refused to use it. That's why you won't find it on their otherwise cutting edge OmniMechs like Ryoken, Mad Cat or Masakari.

NullSig and Stealth Armor follow different design rules and different game rules.

I like the Javelin with 3x SRM4 and stealth. Its as fast as a stealth Commando with more armor and twice the punch. The Commando might out DPS over time but for that run up and say hi the Javelin is just more.

I like the Dark Death with stealth, JJs, Rac2 and a pair of erml. Its decently tanky very mobile and very sneaky.

I run stealth on a lot of mechs, on heavies and assaults its more about not being targetable than it is sneaking around. Though I have snuck a war hammer up behind people and gave them the mrm40 and 5 smpl right in the back.

Hello Squiggy, and welcome to the stealth light 'mech club! AKA the ninjas of MWO.

A word to the wise, you would do well to take more armor out of the head and maximize your leg armor in your current build, or else look at other builds in grim mechs or other build resources. Leg armor is your most precious resource, and as you get more and more comfortable and are able to increase the level of aggression you play with, you will find yourself spending more of that limited resource even if you utilize hills and undulating terrain as best as you can to keep your legs from being exposed to the enemy. It's inevitable that you will catch some laser exposure unless you are playing timidly.

The 20-tonners are so rewarding and thrilling to play I rarely play anything else nowadays, and you can find you can change the entire complexion of a match in a multitude of unique ways that are not always reflected in match score. Recognizing which enemy mechs and loadouts to exploit or avoid, when you are otherwise at a tactical advantage or disadvantage, knowing when to press, when to bait, when to set traps, and when to escape and reposition are keys to survival and effectiveness. Have fun!

For the flea I only shaved 1 point of armor off each leg and the majority was taken from the head and the remaining off the torsos. The pirates bane is maxed on armor.

I love the stealth 20 tonners as you said for the flexibility and ability to distract the enemy and keep them from shooting at my team. Plus dropping two max bonus strikes on a cluster of unaware mechs is always rewarding though for them I suppose it generates yet another I hate strikes thread. Posted Image

With my usual bad luck, any time I take Stealth Flea (perfect for hit-and-run tactics), I find out that we are dropping on Hibernal Rift and thus a point-blank brawling 'Mech is the order of the day. Posted Image

On rift and canyon you run around behind them since it nearly always devolves into a nascar in the middle or a firing line at a ramp and shoot them in the back as they engage. Time it so that you hit as they are taking fire and its rare anyone figures it out. This is also the perfect time to dump strikes.

Yeah, sometimes it works that way ... until the core of your team is wiped out in the middle of the map and then the enemy team mops up those surviving Stealth Lights and ECM snipers.

Don't give up. Won a fair few as last mech standing by being a hit n run sniper on open components of badly damaged end game stragglers. Stealth is perfect for that especially if you are on a map that matches your chosen paint. I redid all my stealth mechs in black, grey and light grey for the three color choices and with certain geometric camo patterns you can literally blend into the landscape.

This is especially true on hpg manifold for the flea and pb. When I get that map I immediately run to just outside 120m from the exits to the center and they all wander past me never once noticing me there waiting to drop a strike on them and get in a few backstabs. Even the ones that get closer than 120m and look around from the sensor blur sweep right past me like I'm part of the wall. Also works well on any non snow map especially if there is soft cover to hide in.

The only stealth that I drop with is a Cataphract with AC20 and 4MPLs.
The stealth is not to make it invisible - it gives you a second or two of confusion when you come around the corner, and most importantly, it prevents enemies from seeing your paper doll, so they spread their damage aiming at the wrong components.
