Does it take longer to join a match if you are below tier 3?

If it's more complicated it's okay to elaborate.

Matchmaker is broken and pushes everyone to T5 and T1 so it shouldn't make a difference. It's more of a population-at-the-time issue as to how fast you get matched.

If you can alt-tab without crashing enable sound when you're tabbed out* and browse the forums till a match is found. Alternatively use the time to do something constructive; fold laundry, do some dishes, push-ups whatever floats your boat.

* add the line "s_NoFocusVolume = 1" to your user.cfg

It actually is a struggle to stay in T3 from playing casually but this is probably due to matches having far too many T1 and T2 players with T3 acting as fillers, meaning there's little to no chance of them actually breaking even. I'm like 54% on Jarl's and I'm tossed in matches with many 90-97%s during certain times of the day, but to be fair life's pretty easy if I play in my SEA time zone because those top players aren't online.

My main account is T4 and I have a couple of alts in T3. I'm seeing no difference in the time it takes to get a match.

The weight class I choose has a bigger impact on times than anything else and has been the case since I started playing in 2017.

i know there are time differences based on what weight class you are running. as the mm does at least try to match tonnage, though very poorly due to release valve settings. so not as big an effect that it used to have.
