There should be a way for players to tell if Merc Corps players are contracted to other factions or not. It could be helpful to faction players so if mercenaries are attacking any territory you could identify which faction hired them. Another reason would tell you what kind of allies are helping you in battle. Like a house logo next to the Mercs Corps name for example.

Well, there is no "metagame" until December or later so we'll all be fighting each other willy-nilly anyway. So I wouldn't worry abot it.

Eventually Merc units will have loyalty points with Houses. If that info is public on a board you can look to see which units are friendly with which houses.
