Hey guys I'm a returning player and my favorite mech back then was the Atlas-D-DC. I want to make a old-school build even though it's not considered good anymore. I have the build (which I will link) but I don't really know how to do the skills. Can someone make an example skill tree that revolves around the build. Any improvements to the build would also be appreciated.

The build: https://mwo.smurfy-n...1893154fff7ee15

Thanks guys

Welcome back Monk Gyatso,

Well, it's an Atlas so you can't go far wrong by filling up the Survivability tree. Make sure you get the two 'Enhanced ECM' nodes in the Sensor skill tree. After that you can fill up the other trees to taste. Magazine Capacity and Missile Rack nodes could be useful. You'll probably want to dedicate some skill tree nodes to heat management as well because you can rack up the heat in a brawl.

Good hunting,

Here's a 75 point tree that you can use as a basis. I've put some bare minimum points in the associated trees and you can fill in the rest depending on what you feel the mech needs.
  • Firepower - Some ammo nodes. You can get more heat gen or more ammo here if you need it.
  • Survival - Mostly focused on armor nodes. You can use spare points to get skeletal density nodes if you want them.
  • Operations - Just the basics. You can spend 2 more points here to get that other heat containment node.
  • Sensors - Just enough to get your ECM online. You can get more radar depravation or seismic.
  • Aux - Just an extra consumable slot. You can roll with a cool shot + UAV or cool shot + arty/strike for some flexibility. Arty will let you do something at long range which might be nice because your weapons are all close range. You can fill out one type of consumable with anther 5-6 points here if you want to.

Skill Build import code: a9f5fbfcfc6d63159b81d8fcfffe270a00000000000000070a5670c000000
you can view it on

You're playing a DDC as a brawler. So Firepower you're going for Cooldown and the major Missile and Ballistic skills.
Survivability, you want both armor and structure as the DDC has good structure quirks.
Any ECM mech under the Skill Tree era must get both ECM nodes, if not the ECM is worthless.
You also want some basic mobility quirks as a brawler. Everything else is optional. Coolrun and Heat Cap are only worth it when you stack a lot of heat sinks. For 15 DHS, I would invest the points in other things

Needs more firepower trees, all of these. Radar derp is useless if you have ECM btw.

Try something more like this:
