[Jun Watarase]

Like most people, ive been sitting at tier 5 for ages. I got disconnected from a match and managed to get back in a few minutes later. We won that match and I noticed that I was now at the start of Tier 4. I did get one kill and several assists before the match ended.

Pretty strange, has anyone had something ike this happen to them before?

You mean bumped up, not down. Tier 4 is higher than tier 5.

Hmm, i must be remembering wrongly. Did everyone get reset to tier 5 or something? I should not have been at the starting tier.

I was wondering why i kept seeing all these cadets in my matches when I started playing today....

There was a patch in Dec that reset new players and inactives to a much lower PSR. Don't worry, frendo. It only takes a week or two to grind back up.

Just kill the poor cadets quickly and painlessly. Try not to headshot them too often because they just stand there and stare at you. Enjoy winning 1v5 in the meantime and feeling like a god on the battlefield.

The PGI's original intent was to move those new Cadets (i.e. new players registered after July 2020 and with less than 20-25 games) to Tier 5, so they would not have to face skilled Tier 1 and Tier 2 players. ▼

Dont rush your way out of tier 4... milk it.

Back in my T1 days, I had maybe 4 mechs I could play, and not be worthless in. Every other mech collected dust. Now I play every mech I own, even the bad ones, and have fun. Since low tier players dont exactly know 'aggression wins games' they spend a lot of time poking and sniping from cover. This allows you to do all kinds of FUN stuff, instead of the T1 game style of ball up, never let go of W, and win the match in 2 minutes flat.

Spent the last month in lights (because I wanted to lose PSR as I had hit T3) and I've been having a blast... cant seem to lose that PSR, as I keep bouncing between t4 and t3 now, because I actually got good in lights!

So enjoy the low tiers as long as you can. They arent as competitive, and are actually a lot more fun (if you can stand spectating actual potatoes).

In a sense, the thread is still relevant - it regains its relevancy every time some old MWO player returns to the game and wonders, why he is in Tier 5 when he remembers being in Tier 1 or 2.
