i know a fully reconfigurable omni mech would probably be too unbalanced to work ,but hear me out on this, Stay with the current hardpoints but allow them to be swapped around on the chassis you still have to have the hardpoints from the omnipod so say 2 energy points on the arm your still limited to those but you can move them to any location but the Head and legs.(head and CT hardpoints should be fixed and cannot be swapped for another) Could this be done without unbalancing omnimechs? take in mind your still limited by hardpoints and cannot swap one hard point for another without changing omnipods, you also can't add or subtract hardpoints just move them... ECm and AMS hardpoints are not swappable either...

That would require a whole lot of coding and UI updates, which PGI does not have the bandwidth to do at the moment. There is a good reason why the set of changes in the patches recently is entirely XML configuration file changes with the only exception being map updates since there is a dedicated mapper available to work on MWO.

We do know, because it's what PGI said during the Cauldron meetings. Even something as seemingly inane as moving the variable weapon geo to a different location on a 'Mech is not presently in the cards, because they said it's way more complicated than appearances suggest and they don't have those kinds of resources at the moment.

It's maps and balance changes, for now.
